In an effort to build bridges in Grand Gedeh, the 1x1 Scholarship program seeks to include girls from all tribes.  Recently, Pastor Nathaniel reported to me that when he went to the home of a muslim girl to share with her family the scholarship she had received, they immediately started praying in arabic.  I hope this is peace building in some very small way in this post conflict society.

I recently read the article from the Star Tribune http://www.twincities.com/ci_11036742 and am wondering what others think of this event!  A Liberian mayor in Minnesota - congratulations to Paye Flomo!

The Lia Sophia fundraiser last week went well.  We have raised enough to send one child to school next year!  This is exciting as this was exactly our goal!  Thanks to Linda Hall for her efforts and sacrifices to make this happen as the rep for Lia Sophia.  This truly shows again how important the goal of "one by one or one child at a time" is in the big picture.  Thank you to all of you who helped make this happen!

Whew! The annual Christmas stockings have been picked up (thanks to IBXPRESS) and are on their way to Monrovia !  I was joyful as we shipped twice as much stuff as last year for the same price -still hefty but not when you think about the smiles that will be receiving them...a great big fun project but a relief to have them on their way !  

For those of you in West Africa, we got our first snowfall today here in Minnesota! I am experimenting with a blog option so please if you want to post something email me and I will post it.  Settings may change later on so you can do it directly, but for now just email me and I will make sure it gets posted.

We are busy packing the barrells of Christmas Stockings to send to Liberia... they are almost done!

Paperwork for the 501c3 status is underway and looking forward to our first small fundraiser in November!
